INTENSIVE PROGRAM
Program Description
The Intensive English Language Program accepts students seeking to further their education in the United States, as well as students who want to study English for personal or professional reasons. The Intensive ESL Program is designed to accomplish many learning objectives. These courses have as the primary goal to improve each student’s ability to produce meaningful communication in English. The courses are designed with a communicative model of language teaching in mind in which the goal of activities, homework, and testing is to produce real communication in the new language in an authentic and meaningful environment. Each course teaches general language skills and introduces necessary academic skills and cultural information to use language successfully.
Our intensive ESL program is designed to be informative, interactive, communicative, and fun. To communicate effectively in English, students must be able to use a combination of all four skills: speaking, listening, reading, and writing. Our intensive ESL program is designed to improve these skills by using interesting topics and current themes that will help students improve their fluency in English.
Opportunities
The Primary Objective of the Intensive English program is to provide students with the ability to communicate effectively in English either in an educational setting or in the business environment. Upon successful completion of this program, students will be prepared to read academic-level materials; write academic papers and exams; speak more fluently in both formal and informal settings; function knowledgeably in North American culture in order to establish and maintain productive relations with fellow students, professors and other members of the host community.
